Earlier today, Clive Gilbert, Policy Connect’s Head of Accessible Transport, met Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands, as he became the first metro mayor to sign the #AccessibleTransportCharter.
Launched by ncat’s Accessible Transport Policy Commission in Parliament earlier this year, the #AccessibleTransportCharter commits local and regional political leaders to work to ensure that:
– A disabled people’s champion is appointed to all key transport bodies.
– Local transport authorities establish accessibility co-production panels.
– Accessibility is integrated into public transport strategies.
– Our streets are free of clutter and accessible to all.
