What is the project about?
This project is focused on addressing gaps identified in the transport design sector by using collaborative methods to equip professionals with tools for meaningful co-creation.
These co-creation methods would ensure that disabled people will be central in designing street infrastructure, alongside local authorities and developers.
What is the aim of the project?
- To explore how LTNs affect disabled people—both positively and negatively.
- To address access barriers, extended journey times, and lack of consultation.
- To put disabled people’s voices at the centre of research and solutions.
- To co-design inclusive improvements with local authorities and stakeholders.
How will we carry out this project?
- Experts by Experience: Establish a group from the CAT panel and run 3 in-depth sessions.
- Evidence Gathering: Literature review and transport barriers testing at PEARL (using CAT panel members).
- Industry Insight: Design and conduct interviews with transport professionals.
- Co-Design Process: Recruit and run two co-design sessions with stakeholders and CAT panel members.
