Handing Over The Keys – Co-Production and the Future of Accessible Transport

What is the project about?

This is project is focused on working for disabled people to be central to transport decision making – not just consulted but recognised as experts with experience throughout the process.

To lead on co-production, ncat must build first-hand experience, understand what works, and ensure its work truly starts and ends with disabled people.

What is the aim of the project?

  • Develop a practical co-production toolkit for the transport sector.
  • Answer key research questions about co-production engagement, barriers, benefits, and best practice.

How will we carry out this project?

  • Steering Group Meetings: Seven touchpoints guiding all stages of the project.
  • Co-Production Planning: Terms of reference, methodology, and baseline survey with transport practitioners.
  • Evidence Building: Literature review, evidence review
  • CAT Panel survey.
  • Deliberative Dialogue: Three workshops with the CAT panel members and external participants to shape and refine the framework.
  • Qualitative Research: Focus groups and interviews with disabled people.
